Description of PowerFlex Gym

We believe that optimum health can be attained by commitment to three principles - proper nutrition, cardiovascular training and muscle building. We are positive that no one can achieve complete wellness without these ingredients. PowerFlex is committed to bringing this message home to each and every one of our members.

We believe that training is so much more than the pursuit of muscle size, strength and health. It can literally become the foundation on which you accomplish your life's goals. Training gives you the power to overcome failures, the confidence to believe that you can accomplish anything, and the discipline to persevere.

We believe that training in the right environment is critical to one's motivation, and everyone who joins PowerFlex soon realizes that they have joined not just a gym, but also an extended family. The camaraderie amongst members and between members and staff is akin to the bar scene in 'Cheers' - it is the gym where everyone knows your name.

History
PowerFlex Gym has been a local fixture in St Laurent since it was first established in 1991. In 1993, PowerFlex Gym participated in its first bodybuilding contest, the Mr. Montreal. The gym sent only two athletes to that contest, but managed to win first and second placings.

Walking into PowerFlex Gym you will see on the wall the pictures of the 90 athletes that PowerFlex has sponsored to more than 25 competitions. The trophies and prizes awarded to over 90 placings, including top placings at the Quebec Provincial, Canada, and Natural Olympia are prominently displayed in the showcases. During the past 6 years, PowerFlex has won a record 11 Best Gym awards, including: Natural Quebec 1995, Natural Quebec 1996, Natural Quebec 1997, Natural Quebec 1998, Natural Quebec 1999, Quebec Provincial 1995, Quebec Provincial 1998, Quebec de l'Est 1997, Montreal 1999, Coupe Pro Gym 1999, Natural Quebec 2001

PowerFlex Gym has been an active participant in the Quebec Bodybuilding Federation and has contributed significantly to the rules and guidelines that govern these events.

In addition to its prominent role in the sport of bodybuilding, PowerFlex Gym has always been committed to promoting health and fitness. We frequently upgrade our equipment so as to provide our members with the latest advancements in fitness technology. Our trainers are constantly abreast of the latest training methodologies and nutritional advancements.
