The Antonopoulos Group’s latest restaurant concept, Aix Cuisine du Terroir, has already made its mark on the North American gastronomic scene with a mention in the New York Times and a spot on the highly coveted annual En route Top 10 New Canadian Restaurants in 2004.

The Antonopoulos Group’s latest restaurant concept, Aix Cuisine du Terroir, has already made its mark on the North American gastronomic scene with a mention in the New York Times and a spot on the highly coveted annual En route Top 10 New Canadian Restaurants in 2004.

The decor, honored in 2004 by the Montreal’s Commerce Design contest, was the creation of Yves Montpetit from the CAMDI firm: "My experience has shown me that the design is one of the most fundamental aspects of a restaurant’s atmosphere. Since Aix is harmonized with the contemporary look of the Hotel Place d’Armes and its staircase connects it to the bar, we let this atmosphere extend into the restaurant. Not too noisy, or too severe, the style is traditional, smart and urban ".

Dining Room
Yves Montpetit creation from the CAMDI Design – Set with decorative hangings and lampshades; this textile arrangement confers a remarkable intimacy to each individual table. For a change in setting, there are benches arranged in a semi-circle, which open and close to reorganize a given space. The view might be filtered by shutters and again by branches in a vase. There is a subtle change in atmosphere as one slips underground where the interior of the envelope goes from brick to stone accented by toned paintings of minerals comforting the ambience.

Terrace
To take advantage of the warm summer weather and to get away from the daily grind, go up to the rooftop of the Hotel Place d’Armes and experience the beautiful terrace for lunch, a cocktail, or diner.
